I called every guy that I had dated and asked what went wrong. Let me tell you most men acted like they didn't understand the question. Most answers were “huh”. Some acted like I was trying to initiate something, and became hostile when I made it clear this was strictly a personal project. One man told me I came off too strong. He wanted a girl to play the part of docile. Some diminsted our relationship as “nothing serious”, and went unfriendly. I was hoping for a parallel answer amongst the hombres. I was expected to feel uncomfortable and to bruise my ego, but the finished project would be having some clarity. Instead I got an echo of “huhs” sprinkled with male aggression. Maybe that's the lesson. Don't look for answers amongst books you didn't finish.
